The Lindenwood baseball team fell 5-1 to Central Oklahoma on Friday afternoon in Edmond, Okla.
 
The Bronchos jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead after a run in the bottom of the first inning.  The Lions tied the game in the third inning after Drew Quinones singled through the left side to drive in Nathan Prindle.  Central Oklahoma regained the lead in the bottom of the fourth with one run, and it built its lead to two runs after adding a run in the bottom of the fifth.
 
Andrew Eilers threw five innings, allowed three runs on six hits, but struck out five batters in the process.  Brendan Feldmann tossed two scoreless innings to help keep the Lions within striking distance.  Lindenwood could not take advantage of offensive opportunities, as it stranded seven runners thorugh eight innings.  The Bronchos picked up two big runs in the bottom of the eighth to take a 5-1 lead over the Lions, with one inning to play.
 
Lindenwood could not put together a rally in the final inning, and fell 5-1 on Friday afternoon.  Quinones and Prindle each had two hits in the game, while Prindle had two doulbes.  The Lions had nine hits in the game, but could not turn the hits into runs.
 
The loss sets Lindenwood back to 9-9 on the season and 3-7 in the MIAA.  The Lions will continue their three-game series against Central Oklahoma on Saturday for a 1 p.m. start in Edmond, Okla.
