The Lindenwood baseball team allowed 11 runs in the final four innings in a 13-10 loss to Southwest Baptist on Friday afternoon at the Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Mo.
Â
Geoff Hartlieb started the game on the bump for the Lions, and tossed 5.1 innings, allowed four runs on five hits, and tallied six strikeouts.Â
Mike Ehrhard helped put Lindenwood on the board first as he put the ball in play, reached on an error, and
Nathan Prindle scored in the process. The Lions extended their lead in the bottom of the third after
Wes Degener doubled, and scored on a Prindle tripled to left center. Prindle scored on a
Drew Quinones groundout, and the Lions held a 3-0 lead.
Â
Southwest Baptist closed the gap with a two-run top of the fourth inning to pull within one run. Lindenwood had a big fifth inning when Prindle scored on a
Ryan Sosnowski walk, and

Â
Degener hit a single in the bottom of the inning, and Prindle hit a two-run blast to centerfield, giving Lindenwood the lead 9-8. Quinones reached base on a fielding error by the third baseman, and Ehrhard hit the ball off the left center wall to drive in Quinones for a two-run lead for the Lions.Â
Vince Saladino made a big play in the top of the seventh as he caught the ball going towards the right field line, and then threw out the runner attempting to tag up and take third base to keep the game at 10-8.
Â
The Bearcats continued to fight back in the final innings, as a three-run eighth inning, and a two-run ninth inning sealed a 13-10 comeback victory for Southwest Baptist on Friday afternoon. Prindle was a single away from hitting for the cycle, drove in three runs, and scored four times.
