The Lindenwood baseball team defeated Southwest Baptist 6-5 on Saturday afternoon at the Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Mo. to win the season series.

Wes Degener opened up the offensive production with a leadoff double, and scored on the next pitch after a
Nathan Prindle single. With bases loaded,
Michael Bibbs hit a sacrifice fly to centerfield to drive in Prindle giving Lindenwood a 2-0 lead. In the bottom of the second,
Jake Cooper hit a double, and Degener drew a walk. Prindle hit a two-RBI triple to right center to extend the Lions lead to four runs.Â
Drew Quinones drove in Prindle two pitches later on a single to put the Lions up 5-0.

Brendan Kleekamp threw a great game for the Lions by tossing 8.2 innings, allowed just two earned runs on five hits, and tallied two strikeouts. Kleekamp allowed four runs in the top of the sixth, one of which was earned, and allowed one run in the top of the ninth, before exiting the game with over 120 pitches thrown.

Lindenwood tacked on another run in the bottom of the seventh after Quinones scored on a sacrifice fly by Bibbs to put Lindenwood up 6-4.Â
Connor Law pitched the final out of the game to earn the save, and help Lindenwood to a 6-5 win in the final game of the series.

Prindle had a monster series against the Bearcats by hitting .800 (8-for-10) with one home run, two triples, two doubles, and seven RBI, along with a 1.700 slugging percentage. Quinones had six hits in the series with one being a double, and Degener registered six hits with three doubles.

Lindenwood improves to 11-13 on the season and 5-11 in the MIAA. The Lions will travel to Warrensburg, Mo. for the second game of the three-game season series against Central Missouri on Wednesday at for a 6 p.m. first pitch.
