The Lindenwood men's lacrosse team traveled to Indiana for an ECAC matchup against the University of Indianapolis. Although the Lions only allowed eight goals, the Greyhounds limited to just three goals. It was only the Lions' third loss of the season.
In the first quarter, the Lions shot five times on goal which were saved by the Greyhounds goalie. One shot by
David Corazalla was blocked in the beginning of the quarter.
Ben Besancenez allowed three goals, but saved five other shots.
Kevin Eskridge scored the first goal for the Lions off a pass from
Troy O'Donnell to cut the Greyhounds' lead to three early in the second quarter. After the Greyhounds scored again,
Henry Wurzer found the net for his seventh goal of the season to send the Lions into halftime down by three.
In the third quarter, the Lions only shot five times to the Greyhounds' six. However, the Greyhounds scored twice to extend their lead to five heading into the final quarter.
The Lions shot nine times in the first five minutes to start off the fourth quarter including
Jon George's sixth goal of the season. For the rest of the game, they shot five more times as they could not attempt a comeback.
The Lions managed to keep the Greyhounds out of the goal on three of four man-up opportunities.
Tyler Schermann dominated the face-offs, converting 11 of 15 attempts and also picking up four groundballs.
Hank Likes forced two turnovers off the bench, increasing his team-high 12 of the season.
Jake Moran also forced a turnover on defense. Besancenez saved 10 of 24 shots faced.
The Lions continue their spring break in Rochester, N.Y. to compete against Roberts Wesleyan College on Thursday, March 31 at 3 pm.
