Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse (Discontinued) |

Men's Lacrosse Battles Tough against No. 5 Seton Hill

The Lindenwood men's lacrosse team traveled to Pennsylvania for an ECAC clash with Seton Hill, but the Lions fell in a close one by a final score of 13-9. The Lions entered the game ranked No. 16 while the Griffins stood at No. 5 in the USILA coaches' polls.

Playing lockdown defense was the motto in the first half for the Lions as they limited the Griffins to just three goals until 1:55 remaining in the second quarter. That allowed the Lions to jump to a five-goal lead after two of David's Corazalla's three goals were on man-up opportunities. Sean Darroch, Kevin Eskridge, and Connor Eskridge each scored a goal while Tyler Eidel scored two goals in a row including one with a man up. However, the Griffins scrapped together two goals before halftime to cut the Lions' lead by an 8-5 margin.

The Griffins responded in the second half with their own stout defense as Josh Coons was the only Lion to score in the second half. By the end of the game, the Griffins collected eight goals to seal the game by a 13-9 score.

Coons, Darroch, and C. Eskridge each assisted twice in the game while Corazalla dished one. Tyler Schermann returned to the field with a team-high 11 groundballs, two caused-turnovers and 11 converted face-offs after a three-game absence. Max Troha led the Lions with three caused-turnovers, and Connor Laird was the third Lion to force a turnover. Ben Besancenez saved 12 shots for the game.

The Lions led the Griffins in groundballs, picking up 34 to Seton Hill's 28. The Griffins had four fewer turnovers, only allowing 12.

After the tough conference battle, the Lions fall to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in the ECAC. They will return to Hunter Stadium on Saturday, March 12 to face Alderson-Broaddus at 1 pm.
