The Lindenwood baseball team lost 11-2 in game one of the three-game series against Missouri Western on Friday night at St. Joseph, Mo.

After a scoreless first inning, the Lions allowed an unearned run in the bottom of the second, five runs in the third, and one in the fourth to give the Griffons a 7-0 lead. The Lions jumped on the scoreboard in the top of the sixth when
Wes Degener walked and scored off an error by the pitcher. That run was the center fielder's 32nd of the season.
Jake Cooper also scored off the same error which cut the lead to a 7-2 margin.

The Lions surrendered another run in the seventh and three more in the eighth to give the Griffons the 11-2 victory.

The loss sets the Lions back to a record of 11-15 and 5-13 in MIAA play. Both teams will face off in game two on Saturday at 1 pm.
