The Lindenwood baseball team dropped the opening game of a three-game series against Washburn on Thursday evening by a final of 4-2 in Topeka, Kan.
Â
Brendan Feldmann pitched another great game for the Lions as he allowed just one earned run on four hits and tallied nine strikeouts in eight innings of work. Washburn jumped on the board in the first inning to take a quick 1-0 lead, but Lindenwood responded in the top of the second after
Rayce Singbush stole home. The Ichabods scored another run in the bottom of the second to regain the lead, and again the Lions answered with an-RBI single by
Ryan Sosnowski.
Â
Washburn scored two runs on one hit and one error in the bottom of the third to take a 4-2 lead over the Lions. Neither team scored for the remainder of the game as the Lions fell 4-2 in the opening game of a three-game set.
Â
Lindenwood falls to 16-20 on the season and 10-16 in the MIAA. The Lions continue the series on Friday for a 5 p.m. first pitch in Topeka, Kan.
