The Lindenwood baseball team fell 18-3 on Saturday afternoon at the Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Mo.
 
The Lions struggled to keep Emporia State from scoring, as the Hornets tallied nine runs in the first three innings.  Lindenwood surrendered four more runs in the top of the fifth, but scrapped together a few runs in the bottom of the sixth.  Zac Perkins grounded out to first base, but drove in a run in the process.  Jake Cooper singled to drive in Kyle Teter, and Wes Degener drove in Bobby Lang on a sacrifice fly to right field.
 
Lindenwood made it a 10-run game, but five more runs in the top of the seventh for the Hornets sealed the victory for Emporia State.  Mike Ehrhard was the only Lindenwood player with two hits on the day, while the rest of the team registered seven hits.
 
Lindenwood falls to 18-24 on the season and 12-19 in the MIAA.  The Lions will close out the three-game series with Emporia State on Sunday at 12 p.m.  Lindenwood will be handing out wrist bands in support of Cancer Awareness throughout the day at the Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Mo.
