Lindenwood hosted the Southwest Baptist tennis teams in an MIAA showdown on Thursday afternoon. Five matches did not finish due to rain as Southwest Baptist won both duals.
The men won at No. 3 singles by retirement when
Theo Butaeye barely lost the first set in a tiebreaker followed by his opponent calling it quits. The men could not get anything else going as the Lions fell 6-1 with matches at No. 5 and 6 singles were not finished.
On the women's side,
Alexis McCarthy and
Rebeca Aguilar paired up and won at No. 3 doubles by a final score of 8-5. The women lost five total matches until the rain suspended play. Matches at No. 3, 5, and 6 singles were not finished.
The Lady Lions will return to the court on Saturday at 2 pm to take on Lincoln while the men play on Sunday to face Rockhurst at 1 pm.
