The Lindenwood baseball team defeated Fort Hays State on Friday night by a final of 12-2 at the Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Mo.

The Lions jumped on the board in the bottom of the second inning after
Drew Quinones scored to put Lindenwood up 1-0.Â
Michael Bibbs tacked on another run in the bottom of the fourth after a fielding error by the second baseman to give Lindenwood a 2-0 lead.Â
Brendan Feldmann hurled a phenomenal game by going the distance with seven innings pitched, 11 strikeouts, allowed just two runs on six hits, did not allow an earned run.

Lindenwood stepped on the gas in the fifth inning after a
Mike Ehrhard single drove in
Wes Degener. Quinones added another run with an RBI double, and
Kyle Teter drove in two runs on a triple to extend the Lindenwood lead to 6-0. The Lions continued to swing a strong bat in the sixth including a two-run home run by Degener, and a three-run home run by
Ryan Sosnowski to give Lindenwood a nine-run lead.Â
Jackson Fuller scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh to cap off the shortened seven-inning game, and solidify a 12-2 win for the Lions.

Five Lindenwood batters had two hits in the game, while every batter reached base at least once. Four Lions crossed the plate two times, and Sosnowski led the squad with three RBI.

Lindenwood improves to 14-17 on the season, and now stand at 8-14 in the MIAA. The Lions will continue the three-game series against the Tigers on Saturday for a 1 p.m. game at the Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Mo.
