The No. 4 Lindenwood women's lacrosse team defeated the Queens Royals 13-4 on Saturday evening in an NCAA tournament quarterfinal matchup from Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo.

Allison Hurley opened the scoring for Lindenwood, finding the back of the cage 2:21 into the first-half, sending the Lady Lions in front 1-0. Exactly six minutes later, Lindenwood's
Jordyn Constance fed teammate
Kara Wendell in front of the net, bringing the score to 2-0.

Queens cut the Lindenwood lead in half, scoring its first goal at the 17:41 mark of the half. The Lady Lions responded, rattling off two consecutive goals over a 36 second stretch, extending their lead to 4-1. Hurley and
Rachel Benzing were the goal scorers for Lindenwood.

The Royals scored again at the 8:36 mark of the half, drawing within two goals of the Lady Lions at 4-2. Benzing would tally an unassisted goal before the half came to a close, as Lindenwood headed into halftime with a 5-2 lead.

Lindenwood and Queens each scored once within the first 83 seconds of the second half, as Benzing recorded the Lady Lion score. Over a 4:40 stretch from 23:36 to 18:56, Lindenwood scored four consecutive goals, growing its lead to 10-3.
Amanda Schimpke scored three of the four Lady Lion goals, while Benzing added the other.

Queens would score its fourth goal with 13:12 remaining in the half, which would be its final goal of the game. The Lady Lions closed out the remaining portion of the game scoring three unanswered goals, bringing the score to its final of 13-4.

In goal for Lindenwood,
Rachel Ortell turned in seven saves en route to her 11th victory of the season. Ortell had several key saves for Lindenwood on free-position attempts throughout the game. The Lady Lions held the Royals scoreless on their six free position attempts.

Nine Lady Lions tallied at least one point in the 13-4 victory, and all 24 who dressed saw action. Benzing and Schimpke paced Lindenwood, each pouring in four goals. Constance added four points of her own, notching one goal and three assists.

Defensively for Lindenwood,
Molly Beckham caused a team-high three turnovers and
Erin Abbott secured a team-best six draw controls.

With the win, Lindenwood improves its season record to 17-2 and will advance to the NCAA Division II Final Four for the third-consecutive year. The Lady Lions will face the Florida Southern Mocs on Thursday afternoon from Denver, Colo. in the semi-final.
