The Lindenwood gymnastics team had a big comeback on Friday evening in Cape Girardeau, Mo., which resulted in the team picking up a conference dual win over Southeast Missouri by a score of 191.025-190.625.

The Lady Lions fell in a big hole early in the competition after having falls in three of its first four routines on the bars.
Kierstin Sokolowski and
Aubree Horn both recorded scores over 9.700, but Lindenwood still scored just a 46.625 and trailed by 1.175 after one rotation.

Lindenwood started its comeback on the vault with a score of 47.625. Sokolowoski and Horn led the Lady Lions again with scores of 9.750 and 9.725, respectively. On the floor, the Lady Lions continued to improve their team score with a 48.000.
Hannah Rector led the team with a 9.750, and
Andavea Alexander had a 9.725.

Lindenwood still trailed by 0.225 points entering the fourth rotation, and Southeast Missouri put up its best score of the night with a 48.150 on the floor. The Lady Lions, however, put together the eighth-best beam mark in program history for the comeback win. Lindenwood scored a 48.775 as a team, led by
Katey Oswalt's 9.850. That mark tied for the seventh-best in Lindenwood history for the event. Other high scorers were Alexander with a 9.775, Rector with a 9.750,
Breanna Franklin with a 9.725, and
Taylor Colwell with a 9.675.

Numerous Lady Lions had top-three finishes, led by Oswalt who won the beam competition. Alexander was second in that event, and Lindenwood had six of the top eight scores. Sokolowski was runner-up in both the vault and bars, and
Aubree Horn was third in both of those events.

Lindenwood improves to 2-4 on the season with the victory. The Lady Lions will be home on Saturday, January 28 when they host Winona State and Wisconsin-La Crosse.
