Men’s Soccer Collects 3-0 Victory at Upper Iowa

The Lindenwood men's soccer won its second-consecutive game on Sunday afternoon, defeating the Upper Iowa Peacocks 3-0 in Fayette, Iowa. The Lions have won four of their last five games, and seven of their last nine.

After over 41 minutes of scoreless play to begin the match, Lindenwood's Michele Ganz netted his MIAA-leading 11th goal of the season, giving the Lions a 1-0 lead. The Lions carried the one-goal lead into the halftime intermission.

Lindenwood scored twice during the second half, extending its lead to 3-0 over the Peacocks. Joshua Scholl opened the second-half scoring for the Lions in the 57th minute, recording his second goal of the season. Ganz and Gabriel Jaimes were credited with the assists on the score.

Jose de Gregorio tallied Lindenwood's final goal of the afternoon in the 71st minute, his first score of the season.

Tim Licht stopped five shots in goal for Lindenwood, en route to his seventh victory of the season. Licht has three shutouts this season.

The Lions outshot the Peacocks 21-8 for the match, and held a 10-5 edge in shots on goal.

Lindenwood improves to 8-5-0 on the season, and 3-2-0 in conference play. The Lions will travel to Searcy, Ark. on Friday evening for a 7:00 p.m. match with Harding.
