The Lindenwood men's tennis team defeated Maryville by a 7-2 score on Tuesday afternoon from the Lindenwood Tennis Courts in St. Charles, Mo. The Lions swept the Saints in doubles competition, while also securing four victories during singles play.
Lindenwood opened the dual match with three consecutive victories during doubles competition to take an early 3-0 lead.
Hector Horcajada and
Andrei Masin collected the win for Lindenwood at the No. 1 draw,
Theo Butaeye and
Naoufal El Idrissi earned the win at No. 2, and
Antoine Barraud and
Tudor Ghenea cruised to an 8-2 win at No. 3.
During singles play, El Idrissi played to a 6-2, 6-4 victory at No. 1. Barraud, Ghenea, and
Guillaume Teste all collected victories during their singles matches, helping Lindenwood take four of the six matches during singles competition.
The Lions finish the fall season with a 2-1 record during dual play. Lindenwood will resume competition during the spring season, beginning with a dual match at William Jewell on February 2, 2018.
