The Lindenwood men's soccer team suffered a 1-0 defeat against Fort Hays State in Hays, Kan. on Sunday afternoon. The match was Lindenwood's final road contest of the regular season, as the team is scheduled to conclude the regular season with two home matches next weekend.
Fort Hays State broke a scoreless tie in the 77th minute of the match, scoring what would prove to be the game-winning score off of a strike from 30 yards out. Luis Mendez was the goal scorer for the Tigers.
Aleksa Nenadic started the game in goal for Lindenwood, making three saves in the loss.
Lindenwood totaled 10 shots during the match, and had four shots on goal.
Michele Ganz led the Lions with four shots and two shots on goal.
The Lions had 10 corner kicks to just four for the Tigers.
With the loss, Lindenwood moves its record to 8-7-0 and 3-3-0 in the MIAA.
Lindenwood will return home on Friday afternoon for a 1:00 p.m. match against Southwest Baptist at Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo.
