The Lindenwood men's soccer scored a season-high six goals during its non-conference win at Oakland City on Wednesday afternoon.
Gabriel Jaimes paced the Lions with two goals, while
Michele Ganz netted his team-leading eighth goal of the season.
Lindenwood was in control of the match from the onset, scoring five goals during the first half of the match.
Johannes Brendle opened the scoring in the seventh minute, with the assist going to
Stefan Andric.
Leon Silva and Ganz scored 58 seconds apart in the 30th and 31st minute of the match, helping Lindenwood extend its lead to three-goals.
Gabriel Jaimes would score twice before halftime, giving the Lions a 5-0 lead at the break.
Ryan Butchart and
Jose de Gregorio tallied the assists on the two Jaimes goals, his third and fourth goals of the season.
Alex Chaitidis scored 64 seconds into the second half, registering the lone goal of the period, and moving the score to its final mark of 6-0. For Chaitidis, the goal was his first of the season.
Tim Licht started the game in goal for Lindenwood, earning his fifth win of the season.
Aleksa Nenadic relived Licht with 32:40 remaining in the match. Neither Lindenwood goalie faced a shot.
The Lions outshot the Mighty Oaks by an 18-0 total, and held a 7-0 edge in corner kicks.
With the victory, Lindenwood improves its record to 6-4-0. The Lions will return home to host the Fort Hays State Tigers on Sunday afternoon. Game time is set for 11:00 a.m. from Hunter Stadium.
