Four members of the Lindenwood men's soccer team were selected to the D2CCA All-Central Region team on Wednesday afternoon.
Michele Ganz and
Gabriel Jaimes garnered first-team selections, while
Tim Licht and
Jeremy Tutas were tabbed as second-team performers.
Ganz was selected earlier this month as the MIAA Freshman of the year and was named as a first-team all-MIAA performer. Ganz led Lindenwood with 11 goals and 25 points during his freshman season. The Agordo, Italy native ranked second in the MIAA in goals scored and was third in the conference in points. Ganz, who started in all 16 matches in which he appeared, led the MIAA with four game-winning scores, and was a perfect three-for-three on his penalty-kick opportunities.
Jaimes, a first-team all-MIAA performer, registered four goals and four assists in his 17 starts for Lindenwood, the second-highest goal total on the team. A native of Pro La Cruz, Venezuela, Jaimes tied for the team lead in assists, and ranked second on the squad with 12 points. The senior midfielder established new career-highs in goals and points.
Licht started 13 games in goal for the Lions while appearing in 14 matches. The Munster, Germany native led the MIAA in save percentage (.813) and goals against average (0.73). The sophomore netminder registered nine wins, including five solo shutouts, the second-highest total in the conference.
Tutas, a first-team all-MIAA performer, started all 17 matches for Lindenwood during his senior campaign, helping anchor a defensive unit that ranked third in the MIAA in opponent scoring average (1.12 goals per game). The Kewaskum, Wis. native started 68 matches during his four-year career. Tutas was a first-team all-MIAA selection and a D2CCA all-central region second-team pick during the 2016 season.
Lindenwood finished the 2017 season with a 10-7-0 record, and a 5-3-0 mark during conference play.
