The Lindenwood women's hockey team dropped the first of its two-game series with the No. 10 Robert Morris Colonials on Friday evening from the Lindenwood Ice Arena in Wentzville, Mo. The visiting Colonials held the Lions scoreless, and won the game by a final score of 6-0.

Following a scoreless first period, Robert Morris scored twice during the middle frame to carry a two-goal lead into the second intermission. The Colonials scored their first goal just 61 seconds into the second period while on the power play. Robert Morris later scored at even strength in the period, to take a 2-0 lead over Lindenwood.

The Colonials added four goals during the final 20 minutes of play, including two power-play goals.

Sarah McGall made the start in net for Lindenwood. McGall stopped 23 of the 29 shots she faced.

Taylor Girard led Lindenwood with seven shots during the game, while Kirsten Martin four shots.

The Lions were held scoreless on their three power-play attempts, while the Colonials scored on three of their six opportunities.

With the loss, Lindenwood moves to 2-6-1 on the season and 2-3-0 in CHA action. The teams will conclude the two-game series tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
