Paisley and Alt Score for Women’s Hockey on Saturday

The Lindenwood women's hockey team was defeated by the Robert Morris Colonials by a final score of 4-2 on Saturday afternoon from Lindenwood Ice Arena in Wentzville, Mo. Hannah Alt and Cierra Paisley each scored their third goals of the season in defeat.

For the second-consecutive game, Robert Morris registered the game's first goal, scoring at the 13:09 mark of the first period.

Jolene deBruyn ended the first period with 11 saves in net for Lindenwood, however, the Lions entered the first intermission trailing the Colonials 1-0.

Robert Morris extended its lead to a two-goal margin, scoring just 30 seconds into the middle period.

The Lions responded by scoring the game's next two goals, to pull even with the Colonials at 2-2.

Paisley netted Lindenwood's first goal of the afternoon at the 3:26 mark of the period. Taylor Girard and Mariah Hinds were credited with the assists on Paisley's goal.

Just 2:07 after Lindenwoods first goal of the period, Alt scored her third goal of the season while on the power play. Shannon Morris-Reade and Ally Larson picked up the assists on the play.

Robert Morris regained the lead later in the period, scoring a shorthanded goal with just over eight minutes showing on the clock.

Lindenwood outshot Robert Morris 13-11 during the period, but headed into the third period trailing by one goal.

Robert Morris added one goal to its lead during the final period, and withstood Lindenwood's increased attack, to prevail by a final score of 4-2.

deBruyn finished the afternoon with 32 saves, including 12 during the third period.

With the loss, Lindenwood moves to 2-7-1 on the season and 2-4-0 from within the CHA. The Lions will return to action on Nov. 14 for game against the Lindenwood-Belleville Lynx. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. from Lindenwood Ice Arena.
