Brewster Registers Career-High 48 Assists In Loss To No. 12 Ball State

The sophomore surpassed his freshman-high of 43.

Sophomore Adam Brewster recorded a career-high 48 assists on Friday night against No. 12 Ball State, but the Lindenwood men's volleyball team dropped a four-set match in Hyland Arena. 

The Lions attacked at a .424 rate in the first-set victory over the Cardinals, but finished the match hitting .209 that resulted in losses in sets 2-4. 

Zach Biggs saw his first action of the season in the loss, tallying nine kills and hit .312 on the night. This was Biggs' first collegiate men's volleyball match after spending the past four years as a member of the Lindenwood men's basketball team. 

Ryan Moore and Jake Duckworth led the team with 14 kills and 13 kills, respectively. Duckworth hit .321 on the night and also recorded 11 digs for his second double-double of the season. Nathan Van Dellen had eight kills against the Cardinals, while he and Brewster combined for six service aces. 

Sam Schindler (seven) and Connor Hipelius (two) combined for nine kills for the Lions, which contributed to the team's 54 successful attacks. 

The team totaled seven blocks, with Schindler and Duckworth each having one solo stop. Moore led the team with 16 points, while Duckworth was behind him with 14, and Van Dellen had 11. 

The loss sends Lindenwood to 0-13 on the season, and 0-8 in conference play. The Lions will continue MIVA action Saturday night against Fort Wayne at 7 p.m. from Hyland Arena.
