Baseball Falls on Sunday, 8-6

The Lindenwood baseball team dropped the final game of the three-game series against Christian Brothers by an 8-6 final in Memphis, Tenn. on Sunday afternoon.
 
Lindenwood tallied 11 hits and committed two errors while the Bucs registered eight hits and compiled four errors.  Bobby Lang generated two hits with two runs scored while Wes Degener and Kyle Teter each posted two hits in the game.
 
Christian Brothers scored the first three runs of game in the bottom of the first, but the Lions responded two runs in the top of the second.  Tyler Muehling drove in Lang on a single up the middle and Teter hit a single to left field to bring in Conor Behrens.  The Lions tallied two runs on four hits while leaving three runners on base to make it a 3-2 ballgame.  Lindenwood could not hold the Bucs in the bottom of the third as Christian Brothers bumped its lead back up to 5-2.
 
The Bucs added another run in the bottom of the fourth to pull ahead by four runs, but Lindenwood fought back in the next two innings to follow.  Degener opened the top of the fifth with a triple and scored on a single up the middle by Brett Andersen.  Degener drove in a run of his own in the sixth inning on a single to right field allowing Lang to cross the plate and pull Lindenwood within two runs.
 
Lindenwood surrendered another run in the bottom of the sixth, but a big seventh inning.  Rayce Singbush drove in Andersen on a single to left field and Ryan Sosnowski scored on a groundout to make it a 7-6 game after seven innings of play.  The Bucs added a run in the bottom of the eight and closed out the game to win 8-6.
 
Lindenwood falls to 1-2 on the season while Christian Brothers moves to 2-2 on the season.  The Lions will travel to Livingston, Ala. on Friday to take on West Alabama at 3 p.m.
