The Lindenwood baseball team lost a close game to Central Oklahoma by a final of 5-2 at the Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Mo. on Friday night.

Conor Behrens had a two-hit day including a triple while
Wes Degener had two infield singles with one run scored.Â
Brendan Feldmann tossed seven innings and allowed just two runs on three hits while striking out six batters. Lindenwood tallied eight hits in the game and stranded 11 baserunners as the Bronchos compiled just four hits in the game.

Wes Degener put the Lions on the board in the first inning after advancing to third on a fly out to center, but scored on a fielding error in the process. The Bronchos responded in the top of the second with two runs to take a 2-1 lead after the first two innings of play. Lindenwood found a run in the bottom of the fourth as
Conor Behrens led off with a triple and scored to tie the game at 2-2.

Central Oklahoma scored a run in the top of the eighth inning after a bang-bang play at the plate went in favor of the Bronchos. Lindenwood surrendered two more runs in the top of the ninth to give Central Oklahoma the 5-2 lead. The Lions could not put together a comeback and dropped the opening game of the series.

Lindenwood falls to 13-9 on the season and 6-4 in the MIAA while the Bronchos improve to 16-5-1 on the year and 6-4 in conference play. The Lions return to action on Saturday night at 6 p.m. to take on the Bronchos at the Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Mo.
