No. 7 Men’s Lacrosse Coasts to Home Victory

The No. 7 Lindenwood men's lacrosse team scored 30 times en route to commanding victory over the Ohio Valley Fighting Scots on Saturday afternoon from Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo. The Lions scored at least five goals in each quarter, and had a game-high 10 scores during the final quarter of play. 

Lindenwood opened the first quarter with three-consecutive goals in the first 4:16 of action to take a three-goal lead. Andrew Hasz, Garret Brunsvold, and Leonard Jones had the goals for the Lions.

Ohio Valley would score its first goal of the game with 9:03 remaining in the first quarter, bringing the score to 3-1 in favor of Lindenwood.

The Lions would close the first quarter by outscoring the Fighting Scots, 3-1, taking a 6-2 lead into the second quarter. Josh Coons, David Corazalla, and Connor Eskridge had the final three goals of the quarter for Lindenwood.

The Lions scored the first eight goals of the second quarter, and outscored the Fighting Scots 9-1 in the second frame. Lindenwood received second-quarter goals from Brunsvold, Jones, C. Eskridge, Henry Wurzer, Sean Darroch, Max Troha, Isaiah Kozak, Corazalla, and Kevin Eskridge. Lindenwood headed into halftime with a 15-3 lead.

Lindenwood outscored Ohio Valley by a 15-2 margin over the final two quarters to bring the contest to its final score of 30-5.

Ben Besancenez and Aaron Wiederhoeft shared duties in the cage, with Besancenez making the start and posting one save. Wiederhoeft made five saves during the second half.

Fifteen Lindenwood players finished the game with a point, led by Jones and K. Eskridge who each tallied seven points. Corazalla and Coons had six points on the afternoon.

Following the victory, Lindenwood improves to 3-1 on the season. The Lions will return to action on March 14 at Alderson Broaddus.
