The Lindenwood baseball team defeated Washburn 5-2 on Friday night at the Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Mo.
Â
The Lions registered just five hits, but had great pitching support from
Andrew Eilers who earned his sixth win of the year and
Connor Law who picked up his ninth save this season. Eilers tossed six innings and allowed just two runs while Law pitch three scoreless innings and struck out five batters.Â
Wes Degener had two key RBI late in the game while
Rayce Singbush crossed the plate two times in the 5-2 win.
Â
Ryan Sosnowski put the Lions on the board in the first inning with a sacrifice fly to centerfield to drive in
Tyler Muehling. The Ichabods tied the game in the top of the third, but a great throw from
Kyle Teter canned the runner at home to end the inning. Lindenwood took advantage of miscues from Washburn as Singbush and
Vince Saladino scored on back-to-back wild pitches to take a 3-1 lead after five innings of play.
Â
Washburn scored a run in the top of the sixth, but the Eilers continued to hit his spots and hold the Ichabods to two runs. Degener belted a triple to deep centerfield to drive in
Paul Sherwood and Singbush. Law closed the door in the final three innings to help the squad to the second win of the series on Friday night.
