The Lions followed up off a Walsh goal with an unassisted score off the stick of Garrett Brunsvold to regain a 7-6 lead at the 13:31 mark.

Although Lindenwood continued to outshoot Walsh, the Cavaliers found light when they scored the next four goals off five attempted shots to give them a 10-7 edge with 4:39 left in the game. Leonard Jones jump-started a comeback attempt for the Lions when he delivered an assist on Eskridge's second goal of the game at the 2:55 mark and recording a goal of his own to shrink the Cavaliers' lead to 10-9.
