The Lindenwood baseball team poured on the runs in a 17-6 win over Fort Hays State on Sunday in Hays, Kan. to claim the season series with a clean sweep.

The Lions posted 17 runs on 18 hits as Lindenwood posted just two extra-base hits and drew eight walks in the seven-inning affair.Â
Wes Degener tallied four hits with two RBI while scoring three runs, and
Ryan Sosnowski posted four hits with two runs scored.Â
Drew Quinones drove in three runs on two hits including a double.Â
Kyle Hentis compiled his fourth win of the season after tossing a complete game with four strikeouts on Sunday.

The Lions blew up in the top of the second with the help of a three-run blast by
Sam Baxter to put Lindenwood up 3-0.Â
Tyler Muehling hit a single to right field and Quinones hit a two-RBI single to center to bring in two runs.Â
Kyle Teter hit a sacrifice fly for the final run of the inning and a result of a 7-0 lead for Lindenwood after two innings.

Degener drove in a run in the top of the third to extend the lead, but Fort Hays State posted four runs in the bottom of the frame to cut the Lindenwood lead to 8-4. The Lions built on their lead in the top of the fourth after Teter drove in a run and
Rayce Singbush tallied an RBI to make it a 10-4 ballgame. Quinones registered a sacrifice fly in the fifth to put the Lions up by seven runs.

Lindenwood picked up insurance runs in the top of the seventh after Muehling scored on a wild pitch and
Nick Paulda drew a bases-loaded walk. Singbush added another RBI with a single up the middle and
Paul Sherwood tallied a sacrifice fly of his own to bring in Teter. Degener drove in the final run for the Lions with a single through the right side and a 17-4 lead for Lindenwood. The Tigers scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh, but the lead was too large as the Lions defeated Fort Hays State 17-6 on Sunday.

Lindenwood improves to 22-14 on the season and 15-9 in the MIAA while the Tigers drop to 9-25 on the season and 2-19 in conference play. The Lions will return to the Lou Brock Sports Complex on Thursday to start a three-game set with Washburn at 6 p.m. in St. Charles, Mo.
