The Lindenwood women's volleyball team opened its season with a 3-0 win over Oakland City and a 3-0 win over Mississippi College on Friday in Springfield, Ill.

The Lions came out swinging against Oakland City with a 25-12 win in set one, a 25-13 victory in set two, and a slim 25-22 win to close out the match.Â
Alex Dahlstrom led the squad with eight kills while
Alex Bogusz posted six kills on a .500 hitting percentage.Â
Ivy Reynolds dished out 14 assists while
Megan Hellwege compiled 20 digs.

Lindenwood powered through the second match with wins on 25-19, 25-17, and 25-23 to sweep all six sets on the day.Â
Emily Wylie dominated the net against Mississippi College as she compiled 14 kills on a .545 hitting percentage.Â
Makenna Schmitt registered 11 kills and Hellwege tallied 27 digs.

The Lions start the season 2-0 after back-to-back wins over Oakland City and Mississippi College. Lindenwood will stay in Springfield, Ill. for a two-match day on Saturday against Concord at 11 a.m. and close out the tournament with a 5:30 p.m. match against Ohio Valley.
