Series Notes:
- The Lindenwood women's hockey team is set to open the 2017-18 season with a two-game series inside LaBahn Arena in Madison, Wis. The Lions will take on the No. 2 Wisconsin Badgers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, before concluding the non-conference series at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
- Lindenwood and Wisconsin have met 11 times since the start of the 2011-12 season, with the Badgers winning all 11 contests. In the last matchup between the two teams, the Badgers defeated the Lions 5-1 from Lindenwood Ice Arena in Wentzville, Mo.
Shannon Morris-Reade tallied the lone score for the Lions, while netminder
Jolene deBruyn posted a 30-save performance.
- Lindenwood is slated to play 30 regular-season games this season, including 14 games at Lindenwood Ice Arena. Including its series with No. 2 Wisconsin, Lindenwood is scheduled for five non-conference series. The Lions will faceoff with Minnesota State-Mankato (Sep. 29-30) and Minnesota (Nov. 25-26) in Wentzville, Mo. The non-conference road series include a trip to Minnesota State-Mankato (Dec. 8-9), and a neutral-site series in Anaheim, Calif. versus No. 6 St. Lawrence (Jan. 5-6).

Britannia Gillanders and
Shannon Morris-Reade will serve as co-captains for Lindenwood this season. The duo will be joined by assistant captains
Courtney Ganske and
Ally Larson.
- Gillanders is the team's top returning scorer from last season, in which she led the Lions with seven goals and 13 points.
- Forward
Cierra Paisley dished out a team-high seven assists during her freshman campaign. Paisley also scored three times, while tying for the team lead in game-winning goals.
- Goaltender
Jolene deBruyn compiled a .911 save percentage and a 2.71 goals against average last year during her first season as the full-time starter.
- Ganske was selected to the CHA All-Rookie team following the 2016-17 season. Ganske led all Lindenwood defenders with five goals and six points.
- Lindenwood was a perfect 5-0-0 when leading after two periods last season. Over the last three seasons the Lions have a 17-2-1 record when leading their opponents after 40 minutes of play.Â
- At 375 miles, Lindenwood's trip to Madison, Wis. will be the team's shortest distance to a road game this season. The next closest game will be 508 miles away when the team takes on Minnesota State-Mankato from Mankato, Minn. on December 8-9.
- After its two-game series with No. 2 Wisconsin, Lindenwood will open its home schedule with a two-game set against the Minnesota State-Manakto Mavericks on September 29-30. Puck drop is set for 6:00 p.m. for the home opener on September 29.
