The Lindenwood women's soccer team dropped its home opener on Tuesday night in a 1-0 loss to Illinois-Springfield in St. Charles, Mo.

The Lions forced pressure in the offensive end all game, but a quality shot by the Prairie Stars found the back of the net for the lone goal. Lindenwood had a chance in the 53rd minute when
Kyleigh Kristensen put a header just wide of the net.

No. 25 Lindenwood falls to 2-1-0 on the year while the Prairie Stars improve to 2-0-1 on the season. The Lions are back in action on Tuesday at Hunter Stadium for a 7 p.m. match against Missouri S&T in St. Charles, Mo.
