The No. 23 Lindenwood wrestling team lost a close match to Newman on Friday night by a 19-18 margin in Wichita, Kan.
 
The Lions powered through the first four matches by earning a decision, major decision, pinfall, and tech fall respectively.  Carlos Jacquez remains undefeated on the year after his 9-6 victory while freshman Nate Trepanier continues his hot start to the season.
 
The Jets won the final six matches, however it took two wins in overtime to push Newman past Lindenwood.  No. 12 Jake Borgmeyer nearly upset No. 8 Dalton Weidl in the heavyweight match to close out the night.
 
Lindenwood drops to 4-3 in duals this season and will return to action on Sunday in Edmond, Okla. to take on No. 10 Central Oklahoma at 2 p.m.
