The Lindenwood gymnastics team won its home opener on Friday night at Hyland Arena. The Lady Lions scored a 194.500 and came out ahead of the tri-meet over Alaska Anchorage and Centenary.

The Lady Lions had their second-highest point total of the season, and recorded their highest score of the year on the beam with a 48.725. Lindenwood scored over 48 in all four events, including a 48.425 on the vault, a 48.625 on the bars, and a 48.725 on the floor. Alaska Anchorage was second at the event with a 188.300, and Centenary finished with a 184.125.

Lindenwood was led by
Kierstin Sokolowski and
Ryan Henry. Sokolowski had two 9.825 scores on the vault and beam, and scored a 9.750 on the bars. She finished first overall on the vault and beam, and tied for third on the bars. Henry recorded a pair of 9.800 scores on the bars and beam, and had a 9.750 on the floor. She was first overall on the bars, and second in the other two events.

The final individual champion for the Lady Lions was
Breanna Franklin who won the floor competition with a 9.800 mark. Other gymnasts to place included
Kyndall Baze, who finished second on the floor (9.750) and third on the vault (9.700) in her first collegiate home event.
Jordan Boogerd was second on the vault (9.750),
Andavea Alexander was second on the bars (9.775),
Samantha Borges was third on the bars (9.750), and
Emily Milliet was third on the beam (9.775).

Lindenwood will be in action again next Friday when it travels to Seattle Pacific for a tri-meet.
