GAME OVERVIEW
The Lindenwood women's hockey team (1-5-0, 0-2-0 CHA) lost the second game of a two-game series against Syracuse (2-3-0, 2-2-0 CHA) on Saturday by a final of 6-3 at Lindenwood Ice Arena in Wentzville, Mo. A total of five goals were scored in the opening period as the Lions scored twice in the first frame.

Syracuse took a two goal lead in the first after netting a power play goal and another even strength goal a couple minutes later.Â
Sierra Burt cut the deficit in half with a goal at 16:44 of the first period, and was quickly followed by a
Hannah Alt goal scored at the 17:38 mark. The Orange broke the tie with 12 seconds remaining in the first period to take a 3-2 into the intermission.

The Lions surrendered two more goals to Syracuse to fall behind 5-2. The Orange outshot the Lions 15-2 in the second period as they controlled the pace of play.Â
Nicole Guagliardo shoved in a goal from in front of the net to pull the Lions within two goals with less than six minutes remaining. Lindenwood had a later power play and pulled the goalie, but Syracuse broke free to ice the game with the shorthanded goal.
