Women’s Soccer Has Rally Fall Just Short at Central Missouri

MATCH OVERVIEW
The Lindenwood women's soccer team dropped a close match on Friday evening in Warrensburg, Mo. The 3-2 loss to Central Missouri moves Lindenwood's record to 6-9-2 on the season and 3-6-1 from within the MIAA. 

After the home team scored the only two goals of the first half, Lindenwood found itself trailing by two to start the second half. 

The Lions came charging into the second half of play, scoring two goals within the first 10:17 of play to tie the score at 2-2.

Sami Gregory netted the first goal of the game for the Lions in the 53rd minute, and Katie Richter had the second goal for Lindenwood just 3:13 later.

Central Missouri recaptured its one-goal lead in the 60th minute, and managed to hold off the Lions for the remainder of the match.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Gregory's goal was her third of the season, the second-highest total on the team.
- Gregory also picked up the assist on Richter's goal. For Richter the goal was her third of the season, tying Gregory for the second-highest total on the team. 
- Megan Swanson started in goal for the Lions, stopping four of the seven shots she faced.
- Central Missouri outshot Lindenwood 12-10 and held a 7-5 edge in shots on goal.

Lindenwood will conclude its regular season schedule on Sunday afternoon at 11:00 a.m. at Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo. The Lions will host Northwest Missouri for their annual Senior Day game.
