Women's Hockey Falls in Close Game on Saturday

GAME OVERVIEW
The Lindenwood women's hockey team (1-3-0) lost 3-2 to Union College (1-3-0) on Saturday afternoon in Schenectady, N.Y.  Lindenwood tied the game halfway through the third, but the Dutchwomen netted a goal just two minutes left in the game to earn their first win of the season.
 
Taylor Girard put the Lions on the board just 21 seconds into the game.  Sophie Wolf made eight saves in the opening period to keep the lead in favor of Lindenwood.  Union tied the game at the 8:13 mark of the second period as Wolf made six more saves to give the Lions a chance in the third period.
 
Lindenwood fell behind at the 8:02 mark of the third period after surrendering a power play goal.  The Lions earned a power play of their own and Nicole Guagliardo scored her first goal in a Lindenwood uniform just a couple minutes later to tie the game at 2-2.  The Dutchwomen continued to battle and scored at the 18:01 mark of the third period for the eventual game winner.
