Women’s Soccer Earns Draw at Northeastern State

MATCH OVERVIEW
The Lindenwood women's soccer team posted a 2-2 draw versus the Northeastern State RiverHawks in Tahlequah, Okla. on Sunday afternoon. The draw pushes Lindenwood's record to 5-5-2 on the season.
 
Northeastern State broke a scoreless tie in the 18th minute, taking a 1-0 lead.
 
Lindenwood battled back, as Morgan Weller scored in the 21st minute of the match.
 
The two teams entered halftime tied 2-2..
 
The RiverHawks again took a one-goal with a goal in the 53rd minute of the match.
 
Lindenwood managed to pull even in the 63rd minute, on the strength of a Katie Richter score.
 
Neither team was able to breakthrough with the go-ahead goal for the remainder of regulation, and the match headed to overtime.
 
Overtime brought much of the same action, and ended with the teams tied 2-2.

- Olivia Callipari dished out the assist on Weller's goal, her first helper of the season.

- Megan Swanson made a single-game season-high nine saves in goal for the Lions.
- Northeastern State outshot Lindenwood 22-12, and also held the edge in shots on goal 11-8.
 
UP NEXT
Lindenwood's next match will be on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. from Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo. The Lions will host Nebraska-Kearney.
