Impressive Shooting Performance Sends Men’s Basketball to 89-72 Win

GAME OVERVIEW
The Lindenwood men's basketball team (4-3) earned its second win in as many days during a 89-72 win over Lane on Saturday afternoon in Jefferson City, Mo. The Lions finished the game with their best shooting performance of the season, connecting on 31-of-48 from the field (64.6 percent).
 
Lane held a 28-25 lead over Lindenwood with 5:37 to play in the first half, when Lindenwood's Luka Radosevic knocked down a three-point jumper to pull the Lions even.
 
Including the Radosevic three-pointer, the Lions outscored the Dragons by a 18-7 margin before halftime, and carried a 43-35 lead into the break.
 
Lindenwood shot 64.0 percent (16-of-25) from the field during the opening 20 minutes, including 7-of-12 from behind the three-point line.
 
The Lions continued their hot shooting into the start of the second half, hitting on 10 of their first 14 shots, to take a 24-point lead with under 10 minutes to play in the game.
 
Lindenwood's lead never dipped below 17 points for the duration of the game, which ultimately ended in a 17-point win for the Lions.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- For the second-straight game, and the fourth time this season, Brad Newman led the Lindenwood offense in scoring.
- Newman ended the contest with 20 points on 7-of-9 from the field, and 4-of-5 from three-point range.
- Chandler Diekvoss had another complete game, filling out the stat sheet nicely. Diekvoss had 14 points (5-7 FG, 4-5 FT), nine rebounds, and six assists.
- The six assists for Diekvoss represent a new single-game career-high.
- Adam Pohlman reached double-figures in scoring for the second time this year, finishing with 12 points.
- TJ Crockett (8 points), Chris King (8 points), Nicklas Jonsson (7 points), and Radosevic (career-high 9 points) all contributed off of the bench for the Lions.
- Lindenwood finished the game shooting 64.6 percent from the field, as it hit on 31-of-48 shots.
- Lindenwood's shooting performance was its best single-game field-goal percentage in its last 105 games dating back to Feb. 4, 2015.

Lindenwood will have its home opener at Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo. on Monday evening. The Lions will host Missouri Baptist at 7:00 p.m. to begin a two-game homestand.
