Lindenwood gymnastics head coach
Jen Llewellyn announced three signees as part of the program's recruiting class for the 2020 season on Tuesday morning.
"We are proud to announce the signing of three wonderful young women to our program for the fall of 2019," said Llewellyn. "All three athletes have a proven work ethic paired with a competitive drive, all while maintaining academic excellence in the classroom. We expect this class will bring depth and have an immediate impact on each event next season."

"This class brings another unique element to the program in which I am very excited about," continued Llewellyn. "For first time in program history, we will have athletes from the great states of Louisiana and Massachusetts. Their personalities and eagerness to make an impact will continue to propel the program forward as we continue to set our goals high."

Riley Daniels | Rowley, Ma. | Triton High School | Ace Gymnastics
Riley Daniels is a native of Rowley, Ma. and is a level 10 competitor for Ace Gymnastics. Daniels was a 2017 and 2018 J.O. National qualifier and was named Regional all-around champion, and Regional Beam Champion in 2018. Daniels posted a personal best score of 37.900 in the all-around competition.
Gayla Griswold | Baton Rouge, La. | Berean Homeschool Co-op | Cypress Pointe Gymnastics
Gayla Griswold hails from Baton Rouge, La. and competes for Cypress Pointe Gymnastics. Griswold was a 2018 J.O. Nationals qualifier, finishing in eighth place on the vault. Griswold has numerous level 10 state titles to her credit, including two state championships on both the vault and floor exercises, and one state championship on both the beam and all-around.
Sydney Lee Lopez | Wrentham, Ma. | King Philip Regional High School | Elite Gymnastics Academy
Sydney Lee Lopez is a product of Wrentham, Ma. and competes for Elite Gymnastics Academy. Lopez is a two-time J.O. National qualifier, competing in both 2017 and 2018. Lopez finished second in the all-around and third on the vault at the 2018 Region 6 Regional Championships. Lopez has career-high scores of 9.700 on the vault and 37.200 in the all-around.
About Lindenwood Gymnastics
In 2018, the Lindenwood gymnastics program captured its fourth-straight MIC Championship, earned its first 196 score, and achieved its highest national ranking (43rd) and RQS (195.175) in program history.
The 2019 women's gymnastics season will begin on Dec.7 at 5:00 p.m. with the annual Black & Gold Exhibition in Hyland Arena. The first competition of the season for Lions will come on Jan. 13 during a quad meet in Champaign, Ill. Lindenwood will compete against Illinois, Kentucky, and Oregon State.
