GAME OVERVIEW
The Lindenwood women's hockey team (2-7-1, 1-4-1 CHA) lost 5-0 to Mercyhurst (6-6-0, 6-2-0) on Sunday afternoon at Lindenwood Ice Arena in Wentzville, Mo.

The Lions stayed with the Lakers throughout the first period and generated a few quality chances, but fell behind 1-0 after 20 minutes of play. Mercyhurst came storming out of the gates in the second period as they tallied three goals in the second frame to take a commanding 4-0 lead. The game was out of reach in the final period, and the Lions surrendered another goal in a 5-0 loss in the second game of the weekend series.

The Lakers were just 1-for-6 on the power play while the Lions had five chances with the man advantage, but could not find the back of the net.Â

Carla Goodwin each got in front of three shots as the Lions had 13 blocked shots on the day.Â
Sophie Wolf saw action in the final period of play and made eight stops.
