GAME OVERVIEW
The Lindenwood women's hockey team (3-12-2) lost 3-1 to St. Cloud State (6-15-1) on Saturday in St. Cloud, Minn. The Lions surrendered two goals within the first two minutes of the third period, which proved to be the difference maker.
The first period was played evenly, however, the Huskies scored at the 14:31 mark to take a 1-0 lead. The Lions played a strong second period as they outshot St. Cloud State 23-19, which led to a goal by
Jada Burke at the 7:27 mark to tie the game at 1-1.
Lindenwood came out flat to start the final frame and the Huskies took advantage by scoring two goals in the first 1:24 in the third period. The Lions were a completely different team for the remainder of the game as they outplayed the Huskies in every phase of the game, but could not mount a comeback. Lindenwood had 27 shots including 14 on goal to just nine shots and three on goal from the Huskies in the third period.
The Lions had 33 shots on goal and 64 total shots in the game, but failed to convert on three power plays. The Huskies went 1-for-3 on the power play and had one more faceoff win than the Lions.

The Lions will close out their season series with St. Cloud State on Sunday at 12 p.m. in St. Cloud, Minn. Lindenwood is 1-1-1 against the Huskies this season as the two teams played in early November in Wentzville, Mo.
