The No. 3 Lindenwood women's lacrosse team allowed just one goal for the final 41 minutes of the game to help it have an 11-7 come-from-behind victory over No. 24 Indianapolis on Saturday in Indianapolis, Ind.

In its season opener, the Lady Lions gave up the first two goals of the game and trailed 6-3 late in the first half. Lindenwood took momentum into halftime though with two goals in the final two minutes of the period.

The second half was all Lindenwood. The Greyhounds took a 7-6 lead at the 26:33 mark, but they did not score for the rest of the contest. Lindenwood scored the final five goals of the game, including
Hannah Doughty tying the game with 18:05 remaining, and
Allison Hurley giving the Lions the lead with 15:09 left.

Lindenwood took 30 shots in the game, compared to 26 for the Greyhounds, and had a 23-14 advantage in shots on goal. The Lions had eight fewer turnovers, and they caused 12 of Indianapolis' 18 miscues.

Sophie Buelow led the team with four goals and one assist. Hurley also had five points with a goal and four assists.
Carly Fedorowski and Doughty each scored twice, and
Shannon Modl and
Cassie Stucklen each had one goal.

Buelow had team-highs with four groundballs and four caused turnovers.
Maria Johnson had a team-high three draw controls.
Rachel Ortell had seven saves and earned the win in goal.
Lindenwood has its home opener next Saturday with a 1 p.m. contest against No. 7 Queens (N.C.) at Hunter Stadium.
