The Lindenwood women's hockey team dropped its CHA quarterfinal matchup against Penn State on Thursday evening by a final score of 2-1 from HarborCenter in Buffalo, N.Y.

After a scoreless first period that saw Penn State narrowly outshoot Lindenwood by a 7-6 margin, the Lions broke through with the game's first goal early in the middle period.
Just 30 seconds into the second period, Burt tallied her ninth goal of the season for Lindenwood, sending the Lions ahead by a 1-0 score.

Courtney Ganske had the assists on the play. For Ganske, the assist was her team-leading 19th of the season, while Paisley posted her 12th helper of the year.
Lindenwood managed to protect its one-goal lead for the duration of the second period, and carried the one-goal lead into the final period.
After 11:38 of scoreless action to begin the third period, Penn State tied the game with a power-play goal.
Nearly six minutes later, the Nittany Lions struck again, this time at even-strength to take a 2-1 lead.
Despite its best efforts to tie the game in the closing minutes, Lindenwood was unable to find the back of the net before the final buzzer sounded.

The Lions finished 0-2 on the power play, while the Nittany Lions scored on one of their four power-play chances.
Lindenwood concludes the season with a 10-20-1 record. It is just the second time in program history that the Lions have reached double-digit victories.
