The Lindenwood baseball team lost a tough one to No. 11 Missouri Southern on Saturday afternoon by a 7-6 final in Joplin, Mo.

The Lions jumped on the board first after a two-RBI double by
Rayce Singbush started the scoring.Â
Paul Sherwood and
Wes Degener hit back-to-back RBI singles and
Neil Fischer drove in the final run of the inning for an early 5-0 lead. The host Lions scored a run in the bottom of the fourth, but
Ian Nelson blasted a solo home run to right field for the 6-1 lead.

Missouri Southern chipped away at the Lindenwood lead scoring one in each of the next three innings to make it a two-run ball game. Lindenwood surrendered three runs in the bottom of the eighth and could not find another run in the 7-6 loss.
