The Lindenwood baseball team lost the opening game of its three-game series with Nebraska-Kearney by a final of 16-2 on Friday in Kearney, Neb.

The Lions scored the first run of the game in the top of the first to take a quick 1-0 lead, but the Lopers answered in the bottom frame. Nebraska-Kearney scored in bunches in the fourth and fifth innings after scoring a total of 13 combined runs.Â
Conor Behrens drove in the second run for the Lions in the top of the sixth on a single to left field. Lindenwood scored just two runs on three hit in the game and committed three errors in the field.
