Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse (Discontinued) |

Sam Heaton and Colin Domek Combine For Eight Goals In Men's Lacrosse Victory

The No. 19 Lindenwood men's lacrosse team won its second straight game on Friday afternoon at Hunter Stadium. The Lions held off Adams State by a 10-8 margin.

Lindenwood led 3-0 after the first quarter, including two goals in the final 70 seconds. Adams State finally got on the board nearly 18 minutes into the game, but that sparked a run of five straight goals for the Grizzlies. The Lions regained the momentum late in the half, scoring three times in the final two minutes for a 6-5 lead at the break.

The second half saw the two teams trading goals back and forth, as the Lions would never lead by more than two, but Adams State could never tie the contest. The biggest play came after Adams State cut Lindenwood's lead to 9-8 with 2:04 remaining.  Lindenwood won the faceoff and then ran over a minute off the clock. Sean Darroch then slipped a shot past the goalie to put Lindenwood up 10-8, which proved to be the final score.

Sam Heaton and Colin Domek led the offense in the game, combining for eight of the team's 10 goals. Heaton had five scores, while Domek collected three goals and two assists. Leonard Jones also had one goal and one assist.

Darroch led the team with nine ground balls, followed by Heaton and Matt Leonard with five each. Jake Moran caused five turnovers in the game. Connor Ciemiewicz earned the win in goal after coming in after halftime. He made four saves and allowed just three goals.

Lindenwood improves to 5-3 on the season. The Lions are in action again on April 6 when they host Rockhurst in a 7 p.m. game at Hunter Stadium.
