The Lindenwood men's and women's tennis teams each dropped dual matches at Illinois Springfield on Wednesday afternoon. Both Lindenwood squads were defeated by identical 5-2 scores.
On the men's side, the duo of
Theo Butaeye and
Antoine Barraud recorded the only victory for the Lions during doubles action at the No. 3 pairing.
Naoufal El Idrissi had the Lions lone win during singles competition, winning at the No. 2 position. The No. 5 and No. 6 singles matches went unfinished, as the match was already clinched in favor of the Prairie Stars.
On the women's side, the Lions picked up both of their victories during singles play.
Anna Barbasheva and
Haya Hamed collected victories from the No. 1 and No. 2 slots. Both Barbasheva and Hamed needed three sets to post their victories.
The men's team moves to 4-4 on the season, while the women's team drops to 1-5.
Both Lindenwood squads will return to action on Friday at 2:00 p.m. for matches against Southwest Baptist.
