The Lindenwood baseball team lost the series-opener to No. 11 Missouri Southern by a 10-7 margin on Friday afternoon in Joplin, Mo.

The host Lions jumped on the board with a 2-0 lead which was cut in half by Lindenwood in the top of the third after a home run by
DJ Miller. Missouri Southern poured on five runs in the bottom of the frame to extend its lead. Lindenwood chipped away at the deficit with a pair of runs in the top of the fourth on an RBI double by
Rayce Singbush and an RBI single by
Wes Degener. The Lions scored two runs on back-to-back sacrifice bunts to make it a 7-5 lead for Missouri Southern.

Drew Quinones drove in Miller in the sixth inning, but a three-run home run put the game out of reach in the bottom of the inning. Singbush homered to left center in the seventh inning, but the Lions could not keep up with the offensive production from Missouri Southern.
