Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Hurley Sets Program Record as No. 1 Women’s Lacrosse Powers Past UCCS

The No. 1 Lindenwood women's lacrosse team posted a 21-3 victory over UCCS in Colorado Springs, Colo. on Friday night. Allison Hurley totaled six points in the game, surpassing Melissa Menchella as the program's all-time leader in career points with 234.

Lindenwood wasted little time seizing control of the game, scoring its first three goals in just under four minutes. The Lions would outscore the home team by a 19-2 margin in the first half, and a 2-1 count in the second half to push the game to its final score of 21-3. The game was called early due to inclement weather after just over 48 minutes of play.

Lindenwood distributed its scoring evenly as 12 different Lions had at least one goal in the game. Sophie Buelow and Hurley each scored four times to lead all scorers, while Hannah Doughty also had a hat trick in the win. Hurley finished the contest with six points, giving her at least five points in six consecutive games.

Maria Johnson had four points, including a team-high three assists for Lindenwood. Johnson also secured a team-leading eight draw controls.

Xenia Du Mont and Emma Wildhart were the other Lions to have multi-goal performances, as each notched two goals.

Rachel Ortell earned the win in goal for Lindenwood, making one save in her 30 minutes of action. Aly Smith relieved Ortell in goal at the beginning of the second half, and made two saves during her time in goal.

With its win, Lindenwood improves to 14-0 and 7-0 within the RMAC. The Lions will conclude their two-game Colorado trip on Sunday afternoon in Denver, Colo. for a 12:00 p.m. MT matchup with No. 11 Regis.
