No. 1 Women’s Lacrosse Upends No. 11 Regis for 15th Straight Win

The No. 1 Lindenwood women's lacrosse team secured a 16-12 victory over its top RMAC rival, No. 11 Regis, on Sunday afternoon in Denver, Colo. Lindenwood goalkeeper Rachel Ortell finished the game with a season-high 14 saves.
 
Lindenwood opened the game by scoring four of the first five goals to take an early 4-1 lead after just over seven minutes of play. The Lions and Rangers exchanged scores for the remainder of the first half, which ended with Lindenwood holding a 9-5 lead.
 
Lindenwood protected its four-goal lead throughout the second half, as each team netted seven goals apiece, bringing the contest to its final score of 16-12.
 
Ortell picked up her 15th win of the season in goal for the Lions, stopping 154of the 26 shots sent in her direction. Ortell's 14 saves were tied for the second-most in her career, and the most since she stopped 16 shots versus McKendree on Mar. 21, 2017.
 
Allison Hurley led all scorers with seven points. Hurley finished the game with four goals and three assists, for her seventh consecutive game with at least five points.
 
Cassie Stucklen matched Hurley's game-high of four goals, her fifth game this season with at least four goals.
 
Sophie Buelow, Hannah Doughty, and Maria Johnson all registered three-point efforts for the Lions.
 
Johnson matched a season-high with nine secured draw controls. Morgan Reader collected a team-leading five ground balls, while Carly Fedorowski caused a team-best three turnovers.
 
With its win, Lindenwood improves to 15-0 on the season and 8-0 from within the RMAC. The Lions will have 10 days before their next game in Brookville, N.Y. on April 25. Lindenwood will face No. 8 LIU Post in a non-conference showdown beginning at 3:00 p.m. ET/2:00 p.m. CT.
