The Lindenwood baseball team halts a late comeback by the Bearcats in a 6-5 win over McKendree on Wednesday in Lebanon, Ill.
 
 
Game Overview:
Lindenwood quickly took hold of a 1-0 lead after Ian Nelson singled through the right side to bring in DJ Miller in the first inning.  McKendree tied the game in the bottom half of the inning and took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the third.  Miller broke the tie in the top of the fifth inning with a two-run shot to left field to regain a 3-2 lead.  Vince Saladino added two more runs in the inning on a double to left center, giving the Lions a 5-2 advantage.
 
The Bearcats were able to get one run back in the next frame, but Wes Degener drove in Brett Andersen to build the lead back up to three runs.  McKendree gave the Lions a scare with two runs in the bottom of the ninth, but Michael Cessna earned his fourth save by striking out the only batter he faced.

Lindenwood improves to 23-20 on the season while McKendree drops to 7-31 on the year.  The Lions will be back in action on Friday as they head to Topeka, Kan. to take on Washburn starting at 6 p.m.
