The Lindenwood men's soccer team picked up a 2-0 win over the Missouri S&T Miners on Friday evening from Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo. With the win, Lindenwood improves its record to 4-4-2 and 3-3-2 inside the GLVC.
MATCH OVERVIEW
The first half came and went without many scoring opportunities for either side, as both teams headed into halftime in a scoreless tie.
As the match approached the midway point of the second half, Lindenwood broke through with the first goal of the evening. In the 63rd minute,
Thomas Hutcheson gave the Lions the 1-0 lead, converting on a scoring opportunity from five yards in front of the Missouri S&T goal.
Luke McBeth and
Alex Imig were credited with the assists on Hutcheson's score.
Nearly 25 minutes later, Lindenwood extended its lead to a two-goal margin as
Joshua Scholl drove down the center of the field and beat the Miners goalkeeper to bring the score to its eventual final of 2-0.

- Hutcheson's goal was the 22nd of his career, moving him into sole possession of first place in Lindenwood's NCAA era record book (2011-present).
